Parishes are the place where God's people meet Jesus in word and sacrament and come in touch with the source of the Church's life."

Liturgical Ministries:

Altar Servers

  • Altar Servers assist the priest during Mass and other liturgical ceremonies. They carry the processional cross and candles, hold the liturgical books, manage the incense, and help prepare the altar and sacred vessels to ensure the service runs smoothly and reverently.

Lectors

  • ​​Lectors proclaim the Sacred Scripture readings during Mass, read the Universal Prayer when a deacon is absent, and welcome people at the beginning of Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

  • ​Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communions (EMs) assist priests and deacons by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the congregation during Mass when ordinary ministers are not available or when large crowds require help.

Ushers

  • Ushers serve as ministers of hospitality. They arrive early to greet parishioners, and make sure that the Church is presentable. Their main duties include seating the congregation, taking up the collection, managing the Communion procession, and handing out bulletins after Mass.

Choir

  • ​Choir members lead and encourage the congregation in active, prayerful participation through sacred music. They approach this ministry as a form of prayer and service, rather than a stage performance.


Service Opportunities:

Transportation and Homebound

  • Assist with bringing people who are unable to drive themselves to and from Mass and other parish events.

Knights of Columbus

  • ​The Knights of Columbus empowers Catholic men to live their faith and serve their family, parish, community, and country.

Gardeners of Grace

  • The Gardeners of Grace help to maintain the beauty of our parish campus through the watering, planting, and nurturing of flowers and other greenery.

Social Gatherings:

Youth Group (9th-12th grade)

  • Is there anything after Faith Formation classes? Yes! Join us every other week for some food, fun, and Faith! Meets every other week...starting in September.

College Ministry (Ages 18-25)

  • Get together with other Catholics in their college years for times of fellowship, Mass, and small groups. Come say hi at our St. Mary's Table at GSW's Americus Showcase on Wednesday, August 19th!

Young Adults (20s and 30s)

  • Being a Millennial or Early Gen Z is hard...so join us for a monthly meal out with others who grew up in the digital generation, but still remember the outdoors. Coming soon...

Spiritual and Devotional Growth:

Faith Formation Classes for K-8th Grade​

  • Teaches the tenets of our Catholic Faith, including Church doctrines, prayers, and Scripture to our younger parishioners. Also prepares youth for sacraments like First Communion, Confession, and Confirmation.

Adult Bible Studies in English

  • A Biblical Walk Through the Mass begins on October 6th!
  • Fr. Nate will lead a Bible Study on The Book of Revelation in early 2027.
